Тема урока: “It is a big world. Start travelling now!”(Writing a letter asking for information).
1. Учебные: Тренировать в аудировании, чтении и устной речи. Научить писать официальное письмо, запрашивая дополнительную информацию на заданную тему.
2. Развивающая: Развивать способность к функционально - адекватному
сочетанию лексических единиц и логическому изложению.
3. Познавательная: Познакомить с новым способом написания письма.
4. Воспитательная: Воспитывать уважительное отношение к другой культуре.
Оборудование: Компьютер, экран, раздаточный материал.
I. Организационный момент.
-Good morning, boys and girls! I am glad to see you. Today we shall read, speak as usual. We shall also write. What about? You`ll tell me yourselves a bit later.
II. Речевая зарядка.
(1слайд)- Answer my questions.
- Do you like travelling? Is there anybody who doesn`t like travelling?
- Why do we travel? (To have a rest, to visit interesting places, to learn something new, etc.)
-Do you like to buy a tour or to travel by yourself?
III. Актуализация навыков аудирования.
-I want you to listen to the talk of two people Kathy and Jim. They are going to buy a tour, too. But before it let`s learn some new words which you will hear in the dialogue.
Снятие языковых трудностей.
(2 слайд) - Look at the screen! Say after me. Read the words to each other. (Ex.1)
Now listen to the conversation and answer the question “Where did they decide to go?” (To Portugal).Listen once again and answer my questions.
1) Where did Kathy want to go at first? (To Sweden).
2) Did Jim agree? (No, he did not). Why? (It was cold in Sweden).
3) Where did Jim suggest going? (To the Caribbean).
4) Why did they refuse to go there? (It was very expensive).
5) Why did they decide to go to Portugal? (It was not very crowded there).
6) Why did they want to call the travel agent`s? (To get some more information).
IV. Активизация навыков устной речи.
(3 слайд) - If you are at the travel agent`s, what will you do first? (Read an advertisement of some tours). - Look at the screen. Here you can see one. Read it and then use the notes to ask polite questions. (Which two meals does the price include? Do the local guides speak English? How much does the excursion cost?)
V. Совершенствование навыков чтения.
(4 cлайд) -What do you see at the screen? (A letter) Read it and say why Rebecca wrote it. (Ex.3) (To get more information about the tour).
(5 слайд) - Answer the questions. (Ex.4)
(Key: 1-A; 2-A, D; 3-Polite; 4-Yes; 5-“I would not like to share...”, “Will we have breakfast and lunch…”, “I cannot speak any foreign languages”; 5- Firstly, Secondly, Thirdly, Finally. 6 –B, D)
- Tell me what we are going to write? (A letter). - What kind of a letter? (Formal) -Have we written such letters? (No). (6 слайд) - Now open your copy-books and write down the topic of the lesson.

VI. Обучение написанию официального письма.
1) (7 слайд) - On the screen you see another advertisement. Imagine that you are going to visit Peru. Use the notes in the advertisement below to write questions, as in the example. (Ex.5)
(Key: 2- will I share a room?; 3- is the sightseeing tour by bus or by train?; 4- can I buy traditional clothes in the Indian villages?) 2) -Suggest suitable supporting sentences for each sentence (1 to 4). (Ex. 6)
(Key: 1-…because I don`t want to change flights; 2-…I`d like to have a room to myself; 3-…I hope it is by train because I don`t like travelling by bus; 4-…I want to buy a present for my friend.)
(8 слайд) 3) - On the screen you see the writing tip. Read it. (9 слайд) 4) - Now, you can see the plan. Read it.
VII. Домашняя работа.
(10 слайд) - Use your answers in your exercise-book and the plan to write a letter to Inca Travel asking for information about the tour (100-120 words). Use Rebecca’s letter as a model.
VШ. Итоги. Оценки.
- What did we do today? (We listened to the conversation, answered the questions, spoke about travelling, asked questions to get more information about the tour.)
- What did we learn? (Some new words, how to write a formal letter asking for information.)
